If you want to get the most out of your festival experience, sign up for a skills clinic! They are here to help you dial in the bike handling basics and then build on that foundation with a progression of skills to ensure that you have the best possible time on Hurricane's unique and world-class trails. These sessions will be in smaller groups so that you can have plenty of one-on-one time with your coach.

Turns and Corners Clinic - Friday 9:30 am

Learn how to navigate low speed turns, tight turns, high speed corners and ride switchbacks with confidence. You will learn the body positions, proper technique and mindset to tackle them all. We will have a ride position review, touch upon ratcheting, braking and shifting. Line choice will also be covered. This clinic is great for a rider that has participated in a fundamentals class or has at least 6 months of trail riding experience. 16 and over welcome with a parent present. Helmets are mandatory. Pads and flat pedals recommended. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class with a properly working bike, ready to go. E-Bikes (mountain) welcome!

Intro to Drops and Jumps Clinic - Friday 12:30 pm

Learn the fundamental basics of  how to safely and successfully jump and drop your mountain bike!  Two completely different skills in one clinic. You will learn through a series of progressions in a controlled environment, that will help you understand all the components that come together to create successful outcomes.  We will discuss the anatomy of jumps and drops, terminology, suspension, body positions, terrain, varied landings and get lots of practice using manufactured ramps. We will also go over safety and mindset. This clinic is for intermediate riders and above. You must have at least two years riding experience and be comfortable with the thought of your wheels leaving the ground. Participants must be 16 or over with a parent present. Helmets and knee pads are  mandatory. Flat pedals recommended but not required. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class with a properly working bike, ready to go. E-bikes (mountain) welcome!

Fundamentals Of Technical Riding - Saturday 9:30 am

The Fundamentals Of Technical Riding Mini Clinic: Recommended for Intermediate riders, ages 16 and up. Learn the foundational skills and technique needed to tackle trail features, changing terrain, rocky loose terrain, step-ups, switchbacks and technical descending. Line choice, proper shifting, energy management, and mindset will also be covered. Learning will take place in a controlled environment, which eliminates distractions and maximizes muscle memory. You’ll also get skills and drills to take home to practice and improve your ride!
